Meet The Dentist

  • Dr.
    Tracie Legette
    Dentist Fayetteville, NC

Dr. Legette was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio where she developed an interest in dentistry. After graduating from Princeton High School she attended the Xavier University of Louisiana in New Orleans.

While at Xavier she worked for the Environmental Protection Agency where she began as an office assistant, then advanced to a technical writer. She was published in The Journal of Air and Waste Management after writing the Update of the U.S. EPA’s Superfund Innovative Technology Evaluation Emerging Technology Program. The program focused on the cleanup of toxic waste in the environment, which ravaged many communities and affected the health of its citizens. She also worked as a researcher for the University of Notre Dame constructing mini-genes to determine the cause of retinal degeneration (which leads to blindness). Still, after working in these exciting scientific fields, her interest in dentistry and its technology never faded. In the fall of 1993, Dr. Legette became a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and began to research and study what it would take to become a dentist.

Upon graduation from Xavier, Dr. Legette enrolled in the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she earned both a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) and a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree. At that point, her love and enthusiasm for serving the community and educating the masses grew more strongly. That same enthusiasm has fueled her for more than eight and a half years she has spent working in rural area community health centers providing comprehensive family dental care to those who wanted to improve their oral health, and ultimately their physical health. The experience was rewarding, both personally and professionally.

With her passion for the community, Dr. Legette was excited and proud to announce the opening of College Lakes Family Dentistry in June 2008. This state-of-the-art dental facility was designed with you and your family in mind. The College Lakes Family Dentistry team is committed to caring for their patients as they would their friends and family. Only the best will do for you.

Dr. Legette has been practicing for over 19 years. She has been in his current location for 11 years. Since she began practicing dentistry, Dr. Legette has kept up to date on many continuing educational classes, ensuring that her patients receive the most comprehensive and advanced dental care.
